box 13 .I cannot believe you can't tell who the extra woman is lined up by the pool!!!! That is your much younger mother, my dear. The box says Boulder Creek. We went down there for a vacation once. That was where you slid out of your ring that was holding you up and Bob and Susie made a dash swimming from the other end of the pool. Your father saw this happen and climber into the pool to pull you out in his clothes. It was then we discovered I had not packed any extra clothes for him, so his wet office suit had to dry out. I was not the most popular person there I will tell you.
box 28 The Christmas tree is the one at Hillsdale that all the choirs went to sing. I can't figure out what Gardner was doing with his shovel or where it was. I must say, Susie was pretty serious in most of the pictures.
box 31  That is Bob Hess playing badminton. I do not recognize anyone in that first picture of Sal. The third picture is Bob Hess. The fourth picture is really good of Daddy isn't it? With all the birthdays you had, I think you had a pretty active mother, Sally and Marianne. Guess we didn't take pictures of Bob and Susies's birthdays. They had them too.
box 32 I believe this is the lodge at Mt Hood. By the looks of the cars, I would say the50's
box 33 Guess you know this is the two week vacation that we spent in Carmel. Julie Burkett and John Walther came with us. That is Carl Walther in front of the plane
box 34  Can't quite hone in on the resort building, but think it is up around the fish ladders at Bonneville Dam. That last picture is the fish ladder. Looks like my mother in the entry way of one of the pictures. You can see our old Oldsmobile in the foreground of one, front left. That was probably the best car we ever had. I can't remember the year, but I think 50 something. Also in that picture, the party around the pool was a group of Plymouth Guild people over for a barbeque. I can't remember but a couple of them. There aren't too many of us left.
box 35 I think this must be a camping trip with Bob and Gardner. I am impressed with the photography. It is really artistic planning
box 35  Bob might remember this one. Looks like a camping trip that he and his dad were on. Its the old Mercury station wagon so that tells you about when. That is the one we had on the college trip. Isn't that beautiful scenery though.
box 36 Love the smile on that darling little girls face. I wonder who could be so lucky to have her for a child. Interesting to know about the purpose of the  picture of the corner of the house. Guess you know that is the corner by our bedroom
36 d I assume you have had 36d blown up into a poster? The slides are a life so long gone. Really amazing.,Susy
box 37 Obviously that is a fishing boat. We did go fishing when we were in Carmel, but that man looking out from the boat looks like my father. Water pictures are of our visit to Carmel.
box 38  Sixth grade graduation. Lovely young lady, don't you think
box 39 Such a mixed bag The one picture of Daddy and I were in Portland. I thought the house was the Hesses house, but that isn't Virginia Hess, so I have to think of that some more
box 40  Glad we got a couple pictures of Susie in her cast. Wasn't such a fun skiing trip after all. Isn't that good form of Bob diving into the pool.

box 62 d) Think this is the birthday with the spinach  h) Some things never change. Susie has the chairs and I still have the cookie tree. That must be the year I made it.
box 63 This was the year it snowed and it was really an occasion. But it melted too soon, and the snow was so light under our deodora trees that we had to go to the Smiths to get snow for the snow man
box 66 Can't tell you who that couple is in those two pictures.
pic  I'm going to have to really think about those hotels, but I remember taking a picture of the bidet. We were such country bumpkins that we had never seen that before. All the French influenced hotels had them. MOM
Box 77 I think we would all like to take the Caribbean trip, but not in the plane in 77q.

No, but I remember (I think) seeing them off in a plane like that.

box 81 What fun to see those slides. These are in Haiti. We flew from Port au Prince to Cap haitien and then went by donkey up to the citadele. I remember how stiff I was from that donkey for wekks, but it was a very interesting trip. We saw native people all along the way and talked to everyone. We really got a taste of the people. This Citidel was built by Christophe by native people who had to haul all those bricks, blocks and every other material up this steep mountain. Life was cheap then (this was even 100 years before we were there) and I guess hundreds died in this great adventure! #5 is a ship loading rum barrels which is all we drank there, #6 is probably the bay in Port auPrince but the 7th picture is a picture of the bobbies in Trinidad. I remember that particularly because we stayed out of town this time and drove into town. I talked your father into wearing his burmudas and I wore shorts for the first time during out trip Well, everyone dressed really well there and the only men in shorts were the bobbies. We found people looking at us just as we had been looking at people until that time..
